A RADIANT WALK
01/02/26

At the centre of this site is my appetite for inspiring you to what I love so deeply about my walk with Jesus, just Him.

On a recent walk with The Three (on a morning I was preaching), I said this sentence to God that I didn't know was in me. After about 30 min of just being with him, I said, "So, Lord, I'm preaching today,” and then right when I was going to ask for help and grace, I stopped and just said, “Jesus," (knowing I wasn't going to ask for help) “EVEN if it doesn't go well today, I still get to come back here tomorrow."

When I said that, I was wondrously shocked. Sometimes you don't know where you are until you're surprised by it. I just didn't know that —the simple enjoyment of our walks—was what I enjoyed most; what genuinely was most valuable to me was Him. What once was everything to me, serving Jesus and preaching great sermons for Him, was now not as important as the simple walks of the habit of our connection.

When you know deep down that having Him, getting His Heart, that your friendship with Him is more central and meaningful than anything you do, that shifts so much internally.

The word radiance or radiant means ‘sending out light; shining or glowing brightly.’

When you know He's walking with you, His countenance and the rest of His love, His peace, His nature is around you—that awareness is the new reason you're alive.

One day on a prayer walk, this impression of imagining Jesus as he would walk up the mountain to be with Father came to mind, and when I saw His face, I could see the close he got to entering the path, the bigger His smile. I imagined Jesus breathing the fresh mountain air, smiling bigger and bigger. Why? Because he couldn't wait to just be with the Father. When I saw that, I just said, “Jesus, whether that was my imagination or you, ‘thank you.’”

In Luke's Gospel chapter 22, we read, “

And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.”

The word translated custom is the greek word practice. Jesus practiced the presence. Practicing a real-time space of going to be with Him changed my life.

One paraphrase adds this sentence concerning the Mount of Olives: His place of secret

prayer.

If I have one message in this whole platform, it's --do that. Find your forest, find the space you just want to cultivate a lifestyle of friendship because He's that relational, tangible and living.

A radiant walk is about being with the radiance of Jesus and learning to walk with Him in all that you do. It's amazing when in cultivating time with Him how real Jesus' words of only doing and saying what you hear or see the Father doing change your walk. (see John 5:19-20, 30; 16:30).
